About Me

Brittany Burke was born in Portland, Maine in 1995. She grew up attending Portland Public Schools. Her mother, Nancy Burke, has been a teacher in PPS for nearly 30 years. Brittany’s first taste of working in education began around age 12 when she would volunteer in her mother’s kindergarten classroom. Brittany has enjoyed working with learners of all ages ever since! Brittany attended the University of Southern Maine and graduated in Spring of 2018. She holds a BA in Theater with a minor in Studio Art, concentrating in photography. After graduating, Brittany worked as the Humane Educator for the Animal Refuge League; leading art-themed clubs, camps, and workshops. After that, Brittany went on to work as an Educational Technician at Presumpscot Elementary School. Brittany has always enjoyed being creative in multiple ways. Right now, her main studio practices are ink & watercolor paintings and making miniatures with polymer clay. Brittany is so eager to lead her own classroom and help students become the best versions of themselves.
